NETS Players to Meet Students at Montclair State University
February 6, 2012
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.—NETS players Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks, Sundiata Gaines, and Mehmet Okur will meet students and sign autographs in the Student Center at Montclair State University on February 7.
The players, along with the NETS Dancers and team mascot Sly, will be on hand to promote the Nets Foundation Appreciation Scholarship. In recognition of the NETS’ 35-year history in New Jersey, the team will award the $35,000 scholarship to three students from New Jersey who attend an accredited college or university in New Jersey in the 2012-13 school year.
The scholarship award will be divided among three deserving students based on academics and community service.
Applications for the Scholarship will be available at the Student Center. Students can also request an application by emailing crelations@njnets.com or by calling the NETS Community Relations Department at (201) 635-3145. The scholarship-winning students will be honored at a NETS home game in April.
